What people are saying about working with Loko Learners

Testimonials

Our work is positively reviewed by current school leaders- this is what they think of the work of our consultants

Ogugua Okolo-Angus has supported our school through two Ofsted inspections. She has a huge rich knowledge of best practice and a current understanding of the education landscape. Ogugua is insightful and knowledgeable. She provides much challenge to all the senior leaders in our schools.

It has been my pleasure to work alongside Ogugua for the last 8 years in many different capacities.

As an education consultant, she is challenging, yet supportive, in her work with headteachers and senior leadership teams. She quickly identifies the core priorities and ensures that actions are devised in order to address these quickly. She always gives more of her time and energy to school leaders in order to improve outcomes for pupils and students.

Over the years Ogugua’s knowledge and skills base lies across all key stages. She is as confident working with 4 year olds as she is with 16year olds. As such, she inspects across primary and secondary schools. Ogugua is robust in collecting her evidence when teaming or leading an inspection in order to reach the correct judgement for a school.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Ogugua for her wealth of experience in school improvement and inspection work.

Neil Harvey- Lead Ofsted Inspector, London Region

Ogugua has been instrumental in supporting the school through Ofsted planning and preparation, hands on practical support for teaching and learning, monitoring, evaluation and review of priority areas of the school.

Her work provided a comprehensive review of the school and assisted greatly in forward planning. Her development of leadership skills within the senior team has been instrumental in moving the school forward

Ogugua exudes a ‘Can do’ attitude which has been very refreshing and assisted the school greatly in specific areas of need

Ogugua’s work has included evaluating our School Development Plan and providing strategic advice on areas of improvement with a particular focus on developing both Senior and Middle Leaders.

She has worked alongside Governors to support the Head Teacher Performance Management process setting targets which again support the development of the head teacher role within the school, focusing on driving standards in learning and teaching

As a new head teacher in post this academic year I have found working with Ogugua as our Education Improvement Partner invaluable. She has very effectively provided me with both challenge and support in achieving school improvement priorities. Her energy and dynamism are infectious and Senior Leaders have enjoyed working with her in developing their roles in school.

Mrs Natalie Cummings- Headteacher, Hook Lane School,  London

Ogugua has worked with Old Bexley for 5 years. Her work has including training staff and governors, providing proformas, setting challenging targets, and leading in depth discussions that challenge our perception of the school.

Ogugua’s support has been effective because with such an insightful, intuitive and creative advisor, the school could not fail to develop in directions we would not have found for ourselves.

Ogugua challenged us into becoming a highly reflective school that uses action research for improvement. We always look forward to meeting with Ogugua. Our sessions are stimulating and exhausting but exhilarating.

Karen Lindridge, Headteacher, Old Bexley CE Primary School, Bexley Kent.

Ogugua is our School Partnership Adviser. She visits us termly on behalf of the board to support and challenge us on school improvement. This has included scrutiny of improvement plans, interviews with middle leaders, support with strategic planning, evaluation of school improvement, data analysis and support with vision setting. She has also provided information and briefings to school governors.

Ogugua’s support is invaluable. She is an exceptionally astute and perceptive leader and educator willing and able to both support and challenge with precision and insight. She is one of those people who asks the toughest and most exposing of questions but in a way that makes you feel supported not threatened.
